Week 3- Kite Making

This week was a little bit more challenging but all the children and their mums did a fantastic job of making a beautiful kite. We used straws to make the frame and measured carefully the different lengths that we needed. Lots of language about size and making comparisons to match the lengths was heard and the children helped to cut them to size and join them together. We discussed repeating patterns and counted out accurately the resources we needed to make them. They all selected their own colours and lengths of ribbon and all the decorations that they needed. All of the kites were original and again the children were very proud of their wonderful designs.
